The Kittenettes – Flowers

This is a stop animation video I made (with a “helping hand” from Dr Magnus Gestsson) for one of my “songs of loss”. It needed to be a delicate sounding song reminiscent of romantic numbers from the fifties. The song has also a necessary sinister feel which resonates with the idea of irremediable loss.

The lyrics  revolve around birthday flowers and the video does use the imagery of flowers along with birds which I feel are two romantic icons.

The two main characters in the film are The Lady in Pink and a 1960’s turquoise glazed porcelain horse from China, the latter being a present from a person incredibly close to my heart.

All the objects in the video are either found, collected or bought usually in car boots and other cheap shops.
